Woman: Can I have birth control?
Government: No.
Woman: I got pregnant because I didn't have birth control and I don't want the fetus. Can I have an abortion?
Government: No.
Woman: I gave birth to my child but since I wasn't expecting it, I can't afford daycare. Can I have help paying for it?
Government: No.
Woman: Well, why can't I have birth control?
Government: Because. Sex isn't for recreation. It's for procreation.
Woman: But it can help regulate my period and benefit me in other ways.
Government: Too bad.
Man: For no reason other than for recreational sex, may I have birth control?
Government: Do you have a penis?
Man: YES, YES I DO!!
Government: WELL HOWDY, VALID CITIZEN. You can buy condoms by the dozens. Here, here's a pack of special condom for "His Pleasure." Oooh, these come in different colours and flavours. Here, try these. They have ribs on them. And this one glows in the dark!! LOL OMG DICK LIGHTSABER!!
Government: But seriously, you're a man. You can do what ever you want.
Woman: But-
Government: Shut up, you sinning, freeloading hussy.

"Too Many Dads in Doctor Who" by RitchandFamous →

ritchludlow:
The last fifteen episodes of Doctor Who have depended heavily upon Steven Moffat’s “Parenthood” theme. Lets illustrate it here:
“A Christmas Carol” – the story of a boy who grew up with an abusive father, learning how to love.
“The Impossible Astronaut” &
“Day of the Moon” – involve an orphanage and a mysterious child who is later revealed to be River, and the...

geekinessandfeminism:
Interesting post and a different look about Amy’s marriage and baby story lines. I’m still not terribly comfortable with all of it or with Steven Moffat, but I do like this interpretation and I think it’s worth a read.
Also, hello new favorite website.
Hooray! Glad you like!

"The Doctor’s Car…uh…Wife" by RitchandFamous →
Oh great. The Doctor’s “sexy” sports car came to life and is an attractive woman. Awesome. Not masturbatory at all.
Ever since we discovered that the TARDIS was alive in the 1964 story, Edge of Destruction, the Doctor has happily referred to his time machine as a “She”, as any traditional ship captain would. This has always bothered me, as it seems so dated in such a (usually) progressive...

"If the Doctor Were a Woman: A Queerer Doctor Who"... →
In 1985, a fan film was released called The Wrath of Eukor, featuring Barbara Benedetti as the Doctor. She traveled through time and space and several sequels with a young man she’d picked up in 1911. I haven’t seen the entirety of these films, and they are rather dreadful, in the wonderful tradition of fan films, but the dynamic between the female Doctor and her companion was...

"Amy Pond and Steven Moffat’s Babies" by... →
There’s been some criticism of Steven Moffat’s choices with Amy Pond – i.e. to make most of her story so far about getting married an having a baby. Lindsay Miller over at Tiger BeatDown, in an article entitled “Why I Hate Amy Pond”, suggests that Moffat’s decisions about Amy’s marriage and pregnancy story lines are gender stereotypes. “Girls like weddings!”, “Girls like having babies!”,...
